Welcome to Keeping It Shrimple! Learn more about our story and what makes us special.

I have been keeping, breeding and trading fish for 35 years. I got into breeding freshwater sting rays and rare Cichlids in a pretty big way. I have always been into Monster tank buster fish in huge aquariums. Nearly a decade ago i got some shrimp for a nano tank and the obsession has been steadily growing since.

I started this hobby for my two daughters, Grace 12 yo and Eve 10 yo. The master plan was clear,  to introduce them to the beauty of being an aquarist but also teach them the value of money and responsibility of looking after living creatures. 

Did I succeed? Kind of I guess. What you see available on this website for sale has been purchased, tended and looked after by my daughters. Their hard work on chores has raised  money that they have then invested in gear and shrimp. They have become critical cullers and shrimp nerds in their own right. Those in the know realise that at best this is a break even kind of deal. But the joy it provides to my girls and broader family is priceless.
